Industry Dive donates $4K to employee picked orgs; matches $1.5K in team donations

After a successful second quarter, Industry Dive and its employees donated nearly $7,500 to charities that serve abused and neglected youth in Chicago, fight food insecurity, and also empower Black youth in under-served communities through leadership and engagement.

Since 2016, the quarterly “Dive Gives” program has employees recommend a favorite 501(c)(3) organization to support. Of the recommended groups, the top two organizations as voted on by employees received $2,000 each from Industry Dive. As an added bonus this quarter, the company also matched employee donations made during a week-long fundraising drive led by a community volunteering task force of the employee Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee.

Dive Gives will support:

Lawrence Hall - recommended by Chicago-based Lynne Marek, Senior Editor of Payments Dive
Lawrence Hall has delivered high-quality care to abused and neglected youth and their families throughout the Chicago metropolitan area since 1865. It has a foster care program and a child and family treatment center along with transitional and independent living programs.

Black Swan Academy - recommended by Aneesa Browne, Talent Acquisition Lead
The Black Swan Academy (BSA) is a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC that works to empower Black youth. BSA offers after-school Civic Leadership and Engagement programs to middle and high school students as well as an annual Civic Leadership Summit.

Meanwhile, the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging committee (known  internally as DIB) will support:

Err'Body Eats, a Washington, DC-based group that fights food insecurity via free meals and toiletry kits. The $3,500 combined from donations and matching funds will cover the costs of 279 meals and 69 toiletry kits for the organization.

With these donations, Dive Gives has donated more than $45,000 to 38 organizations helping a variety of causes on a local, national and global scale.
