Industry Dive reporters appear at restaurant, food, education and smart cities conferences this week

  • Restaurant Dive Editor Emma Liem Becket t is moderating a panel today at the Curbivore conference called Vroom Boom - Rethinking Drive-Thrus, Drive-Ins, Parking, and Car-Based Businesses for the Coronavirus Era. Jackie Gonzalez, founder Cinemauto and Scotts Fitsimones, co-founder & CTO, AirGarage will look at the latest innovations for drive-thru, drive-in & parking companies.

    As social distancing rules still limit dining room occupancies, Restaurant Dive has been following new ways companies have found to generate revenue. She will discuss Online at Scale with Don Kilburn, CEO UMass Online; Philip Regier, CEO, EdPlus at Arizona State University and Lou Pugliese, executive vice president, University of Maryland Global Campus.

    Busta, along with Education Dive colleagues Natalie Schwartz and Jeremy Bauer-Wolf, published a series of articles Tuesday looking at How COVID-19 is changing the business of online learning for colleges .
  • Food Dive Reporter Lillianna Byington will interview Keynote Speaker Michele Fite, CCO of Motif FoodWorks on Thursday at the Food Edge 2020 Digital Summit . They will discuss what Motif FoodWorks, an ingredient innovation company, sees in the future of food as part of this three-day food innovation summit.

    Byington has interviewed Fite before, including for this story last year looking at how the company was ramping up growth efforts.
  • Smart Cities Dive Senior Editor Kristin Musulin will moderate a panel discussion on Friday called Smart Cities, AI, and the Greater Good, presented by the Nittany Ai Alliance from PennState Outreach. Musulin will interview distinguished PSU professor Jack Carroll; assistant PSU professor of electrical engineering Javad Khazaei; Comcast Cable Senior Vice President Douglas Guthrie and Philadelphia Smart City Director Emily Yates.

    Musulins story PSU team maps Philadelphia's telework trends , written in September, will be touched on in the discussion.
