Journalist Lara Ewen hired to lead Fashion Dive
Industry Dive welcomes Lara Ewen as senior editor for Fashion Dive, its latest publication coming this March. Ewen brings more than 30 years of experience in reporting and editing retail, lifestyle and business stories.
Fashion Dive — and other publications yet to be announced — are part of an ambitious, accelerated publication launch plan this year that will bring Industry Dive’s award-winning journalism to new markets and audiences.
"Fashion Dive will look before and beyond the runways to explore the shifting strategies executives, creative directors, designers and others across the industry face right now,” Ewen said. “My goal is to make the fashion industry news more accessible to our readers with actionable information they can use to make solid business decisions.”
Ewen looks forward to not only building the new publication’s coverage areas, but developing a community and relationship with the audience.
“This is going to be a conversation with readers," Ewen said. "We don't want to just throw information at them. We want to listen and advise, not just dictate trends. We want to talk about what matters to the industry.”
Ewen has been a freelancer with Industry Dive’s Retail Dive, Supply Chain Dive and other newsletters since 2016. Based in New York, Ewen previously was editor-in-chief at Sportswear International and has also covered the industry for Women’s Wear Daily. She covered the diamond industry at Rapaport, and has also contributed work to The New York Times, Newsday, American Libraries Magazine, and others.
